Fortnite players criticize developers for lack of effort in designing Crew skins

Many avid Fortnite players have expressed their dissatisfaction with the current Crew Pack skins, citing comparisons to past designs.

The Fortnite Crew monthly subscription grants players access to Crew Packs, which are exclusive cosmetic packs. Every month, subscribers receive a new pack containing one character skin, glider skin, and melee skin.

The release of Dali, the Crew Pack for September 2024, has faced criticism from certain fans who long for the older designs. A Reddit user shared a comparison image between the upcoming Crew Pack and the skins from August 2023, questioning the possibility of bringing back previous Crew Skins.

Can we just get old crew skins back at this point? You can’t tell me more people would be buying this girl over Lexa or any of the previous skins byu/imalonexc inFortNiteBR

The majority of the responses expressed similar sentiments as the original poster, with one individual sharing their decision to cancel their subscription due to the unsatisfactory skin from the previous month: “The skins offered nowadays rarely appeal to me.”

Another comment highlighted how the developers ruined the appearance of the skin, despite having more visually appealing artwork: “I was initially looking forward to her release, but they really did her a disservice compared to her stunning concept art.”

The concept art for the design has been a source of disagreement for the last few weeks, with one fan in particular altering the skin to align with the original concept.

The post has received more than 4,000 likes and the majority of responses express a negative sentiment. One user commented with a crying emoji, stating “We were robbed.”

The controversy surrounding the Crew Pack was further fueled by a recent Reddit post which accused the pack of being subpar. The poster pointed out that the previous month’s Crew Pack skin was too similar to the Machinist skin. They also noted that this month’s skin has the same colors, adding, “It’s just lazy.”

Upon reading this post, numerous individuals questioned why the Crew Packs do not align with the themes of the seasons in which they are introduced.

One devoted fan expressed that a Superhero/super villain skin was a must-have, given that Chapter 5 Season 4 was centered around the Marvel universe for the Absolute Doom event.

Fortunately, fans eagerly anticipating high-quality skins can anticipate future updates to the Fortnite Shop as leaks have revealed that a rare skin may be making a comeback.
