Fortnite Players Criticize Epic for Quick Cash Grab with Cybertruck Release

After Epic Games announced that Fortnite would be receiving Tesla’s famous Cybertruck, the vehicle was added to the game with its latest update on July 23. However, not everyone is pleased with its addition.

Despite being free content, a popular thread on Reddit that received a lot of upvotes was eventually deleted. The thread called out Epic for including a vehicle in their game, labeling it as a “quick cash grab.”The author also criticized the developer for what they saw as hypocrisy.

The speaker argued that Fortnite’s decision to add a brand associated with Elon Musk contradicts their reasoning for not bringing back certain skins due to controversy. They believe that Fortnite is no longer concerned with controversy as they focus on creating a metaverse.

The responses varied, with some people speculating about the amount of money exchanged between Epic and Tesla to make the collaboration possible. Others expressed their intention to prioritize destroying any Cybertruck they came across.

“One user noted, “It’s only fair to say that Epic made a significant profit from implementing such a simple design in the game. It’s just a 3D irregular pentagon.”Another user chimed in, “I can’t wait to see every Elontruck I come across explode.”

Some individuals expressed doubts about Epic’s methods of decision-making. They pointed out that while they are unable to obtain the Cardi B emote due to one word that sounds similar to a derogatory term, the company has approved a collaboration with Elon Musk.

“Another person stated, ‘Even the Epic employees are frustrated with this situation.’ Some have openly voiced their disapproval, revealing the individuals responsible for causing this problem.”

Furthermore, along with the introduction of the Cybertruck, Fortnite’s 30.30 update also brought new Fall Guys content and other additions. For more information, please visit our dedicated patch notes page.
