The Katalina skin and accompanying cosmetics were made available to Fortnite players on mobile. However, players were able to find a way to obtain the Katalina bundle without using a phone.
After bringing back Fortnite onto iPhones in the EU, Epic Games celebrated the release by distributing the Katalina skin, along with other adorable cosmetics, to players who completed quests through the mobile app.

“ArcticPenguin” on X was the first to discover this elusive method without ever using a mobile phone. They initially revealed that they earned the Katalina skin through their Xbox in the US and later explained their process.
To obtain the Katalina skin like ArcticPenguin, you must follow a few straightforward steps:
- Find a Creative 1.0 (non-UEFN) map
- Join the map with a friend as a “Private Game”
- One friend must leave the map and rejoin while the other stays
- The Katalina quests should now work for the person who re-joined
It is important for both players to be able to alternate between leaving and staying for each other. Once the quests are functional on either PC or console, completing the necessary tasks should lead to earning the Katalina skin and cosmetics.
In response to the later post explaining how it’s done, Fortnite players in the comments had numerous questions for ArcticPenguin. One person even asked if doing this could result in a ban, but the original poster dismissed this possibility due to the skin being free.
They also needed to clarify that leaving the party does not mean leaving the game entirely, but rather exiting the map while the other player remains. It is important to ensure that they do not exit the map before asking to rejoin.
In addition to the complimentary Katalina skin bundle, the latest Chapter 5 Season 4 update also introduces new cosmetics, including the Doctor Doom skin and a free Sir Beurre Croissant back bling.
