Fortnite players have come together to combat an excessively dominant weapon in Chapter 5 Season 3. This weapon is so immensely strong that players are willing to sacrifice themselves in the storm to prevent it from being used against them.
As the end of Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3 draws near, players can continue to obtain various mythic items in the game. These include the Conductor Hand Cannon, Cerberus’ Gatekeeper Shotgun, and Megalo Don’s Nitro Fists.
Even with these strong choices available, there was one shotgun in particular that players were adamant about keeping out of their reach. Some players even went to extreme lengths to remove it from the map completely.
A Fortnite player on Reddit posted a screenshot with the caption, “I sacrificed myself to prevent anyone from being killed by this weapon.”While the specific gun was not mentioned, the community was able to quickly identify it as the Oscar’s Frenzy Auto Shotgun.

In the comments, players of Fortnite expressed their dissatisfaction with the weapon that can only be obtained by defeating the NPC. One player even stated, “I encountered it in five consecutive matches when I least anticipated it and every time I would lose. I had to take a break and instead played the festival.”
Another player remembered the origins of Oscar’s Frenzy Auto Shotgun, saying, “During the launch in Chapter 5 Season 1, it was ridiculously overpowered.”
Ever since the update v29.10, Epic Games has decreased the fire rate and headshot multiplier of this shotgun, resulting in it being nerfed. However, according to this player, even with these changes, “Oscar’s”is still capable of causing significant damage.
Some players approached the dramatic effort to keep Oscar’s Frenzy Auto Shotgun out of reach with a more lighthearted attitude. They playfully remarked, “It’s a noble sacrifice, but you could have just hidden it during the storm.”
A new participant joined in on the fun, commenting, “That would have been the perfect solution, but I suppose the intensity of it fried his brain.”
Despite the abundance of powerful weapons like the Nitro Fists and Magneto Power in this Fortnite season, players have reported that the Tesla Cybertruck is lacking in power compared to other elements.
