Players diving into the new Fortnite Ballistic mode, which offers a first-person perspective, have encountered a significant visibility issue tied to certain character skins. This addition marks the game’s inaugural official FPS experience, alongside user-generated maps that provided a taste of this style previously.
Featuring a 5v5 tactical setup reminiscent of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and Valorant, Fortnite Ballistic brings excitement to the community, despite encountering some server instability. However, a notable problem has emerged that could be hindering the experience for many players.
Skins That Impair Visibility in Fortnite Ballistic
Prominent Fortnite community accounts on Twitter/X, such as BeeYourselves and iFireMonkey, have highlighted that specific skins, including those inspired by Bakugo and Edward Scissorhands, obstruct users’ line of sight in the game.
This visibility impairment becomes particularly noticeable when players aim down sights, as the hands of Edward and the gauntlets of Bakugo occupy a large portion of the screen. A visual provided by iFireMonkey starkly illustrates how Bakugo’s gauntlets can block significant areas of the game’s display.

This issue might come as a surprise, especially considering a hotfix released in October 2024, which had already prevented skins like Edward Scissorhands and Mecha Team Leader from being used in first-person modes. The decision not to extend this blacklist to other problematic skins in Fortnite Ballistic raises questions.
One fan speculated that the developers may have overlooked this oversight. However, the swift action taken in previous updates indicates that a timely hotfix might soon be forthcoming. While players may need to forgo their favorite skins temporarily, a solution could be on the horizon.
The release of Ballistic coincided with the launch of Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 1, which introduced several innovative gameplay features, including wall jumping and dodge rolling mechanics. Looking forward, Epic Games appears poised to unveil even more exciting developments, such as the upcoming Brick Life feature and a rumored extraction mode.
