Many Fortnite players are in a frenzy over a rare item that boosts their health to “1000 HP”and gives them strong abilities. This has caused some to humorously remark that they are “Absolutely Doomed.”
The ongoing season, named Absolute Doom, was released on August 16, 2024. Focused on the iconic character Doctor Doom from Marvel, this season marks another chapter in the partnership between Fortnite and Marvel.
In the storyline, Doctor Doom is in possession of the legendary Pandora’s box and poses a threat to the Fortnite universe. To stop Doom and restore peace, players must assume the roles of different Marvel heroes, including Gwenpool and War Machine.
Despite the initial excitement, players were quickly filled with dread after trying out the new Ultra Doom mythic item. This item bestows 500 Health, 500 Shield, and a variety of immensely powerful abilities.

A video shared by a player on Reddit raised the question of whether it is even feasible to face an opponent armed with such an abundance of firepower.
Doom’s Chosen has a number of powerful abilities, such as Arcane Barrage, a devastating multishot attack, and Scorch Beam, a long-distance beam that deals heavy damage. Aerial assaults can be executed using Mystical Gigabomb, while Dive Kick allows for a formidable descent onto enemies. Additionally, the Ultra Doom item grants unlimited sprint and a shield siphon.
A player expressed their shock, commenting, “Wait, am I really seeing 500 health and 500 shield with a weapon that deals more damage than Thanos’ beam?”
The item was likened to the infamous Thanos Beam, known for its ability to cause significant damage from a distance.
One player expressed their disappointment, stating that this item should have been included as a limited time mode (LTM) instead of having only a 5% spawn chance. They added that there is a high possibility they will never get to use the item due to the way it was implemented.
Someone else among the players quipped, “Why not just skip the whole foreplay and simply press a big red button that nukes everyone?”
Although various suggestions have been made, such as utilizing a Jetpack or collaborating to defeat the player powered by Doom, the general agreement remains unchanged: “We are definitely doomed.”
Despite not winning over players due to its low drop rate, the Ultra Doom was overshadowed by the success of other additions in the season, such as Gwenpool’s entertaining 4th-wall-breaking antics.
