Fortnite Poll Results: Most Beloved Mode Is Not Battle Royale

Fortnite Poll Results: Most Beloved Mode Is Not Battle Royale

Fortnite conducted a survey among its players, inquiring about their preferred playstyle. The results revealed that Battle Royale is the least popular game mode among the player base.

Since its launch in 2017, Epic Games’ Fortnite has undergone various changes in its game modes. One of these modes, Battle Royale, was the main factor that contributed to the game’s popularity.

Zero Build was introduced in 2022, removing the building aspect and placing a greater emphasis on combat. And now, there’s a new game in town, Reload, which made its debut on June 22, 2024.

In July 2024, Fortnite sparked controversy by conducting a poll on X. The poll required players to select their preferred playstyle, along with other features. Notably, the poll did not include options for LEGO Fortnite, Rocket Racing, or Fortnite Festival.

After two hours since the poll was published, the Battle Royale mode received only 8 votes, while Reload and Zero Build received approximately 30 votes each.

Despite the popularity of Fortnite, even well-known streamer Ninja has chosen not to play Battle Royale. He is disappointed by the current vehicle-focused gameplay in Chapter 5 Season 3 and has instead switched to playing Zero Build and Reload exclusively.

Despite a decline in vote preference, Battle Royale continues to maintain its dominance in player numbers. As of Wednesday, July 24 at 3:00 PM EST, Reload has 238,000 players, Zero Build has 242,600, and Battle Royale leads with 305,900. These current player stats present a mixed picture, with Battle Royale standing out as the most popular game.

Despite its immense popularity, Fortnite is currently facing some challenges. Many fans have expressed dissatisfaction with the user interface, describing it as “bad”. Additionally, the Summer Road Trip quests have received criticism for their requirement of party play.

Despite polls suggesting otherwise, the Pirates of the Caribbean collaboration, Cursed Sails, provided players with a plethora of pirate-themed content to enjoy. This included pirate pistols, cannons, and four Disney movie franchise NPCs. The consistent updates and addition of new content may be the reason for Battle Royale’s high player count.”
