Epic Games has introduced a significant XP boost in Fortnite, encouraging players to dive back into the classic OG mode set to return on December 6. This development provides players with fresh incentives to engage with this nostalgic gameplay.
Fortnite boasts a myriad of ways to amass XP and progress through the Battle Pass, from completing weekly quests to earning points for each elimination. However, players who gravitate toward one of Fortnite’s side modes—rather than the conventional Battle Royale—have often found these experiences less rewarding, largely due to the absence of inherent challenges.
Major XP Boost Transforms Battle Pass Progression
In an exciting update, Chapter 6 has addressed this issue by enhancing the weekly playtime XP acquisition. Players can now earn up to 4,000,000 XP weekly by enjoying modes like Fortnite Reload, LEGO mode, and most notably, Fortnite OG. This marks a substantial increase from the previous cap of 1.1 million XP prior to the December 3 update.

Regardless of performance level, players can earn 1,900 XP per minute for the first 35 hours spent playing any of these three modes. After reaching this limit, the XP rate shifts to 550 XP per minute until the weekly reset each Thursday.
Insights from renowned leaker iFireMonkey suggest that this recent buff could enable dedicated players to achieve up to 50 levels in a week solely through playtime XP, effectively covering half of the seasonal Battle Pass. With this approach, players could unlock every Battle Pass skin in Chapter 6 within just two weeks.

One minor caveat is that playtime XP is consolidated across the three modes, meaning that XP earned in Fortnite Reload will also contribute to LEGO mode and OG. This decision likely aims to prevent players from exploiting the system to accumulate excessive XP in a short period.
As Fortnite OG makes its much-anticipated return on December 6, this considerable XP boost allows players the opportunity to relive the excitement of the Chapter 1 map while progressing effortlessly through the Battle Pass, enabling them to chase after exclusive cosmetics like the Baymax or Godzilla skins.
