Fortnite Rubios Icon Series Set Review: Exciting Features with One Major Drawback

Fortnite’s Rubius Icon Series skin has been receiving widespread acclaim since its announcement, but players have expressed dissatisfaction regarding one aspect.

After teasing a Fortnite collaboration in August, Rubius finally unveiled his Icon Series set, which features a variety of cosmetics. The bundle has been lauded by players primarily for its eye-catching back bling.

One of the standout items in the Rubius Icon Series bundle is a cat-themed back bling, specifically inspired by his real-life cat, Wilson. Fans have highlighted this detail, expressing their enthusiasm. The uniqueness of this back bling is amplified by its reactive feature.

A clip showed the cat waking up from its nap as soon as the emote triggered. Many players have stated they plan to purchase the bundle just for this back bling when it releases.

One user commented, “I don’t know who the guy is, but that back bling is gonna get bought day one. I love cat-themed accessories.”

The excitement surrounding the Icon Series skin also stems from Rubius’s commitment to donate the earnings from his skin in the first 24 hours to animal shelters, a fact noted by Spanish Fortnite leaker JorgeMost, which has endeared him further to the community.

While the feedback about this Icon Series set has largely been positive, players have voiced their frustrations regarding the Rubius Twitch Drops. For those unfamiliar, participants had the chance to earn a free emote through this promotion.

The issue arose when it was revealed that this campaign was region-locked and only available for a limited time. It was only after the Twitch Drops concluded that players learned it was accessible globally, though limited by Twitch as stated by HYPEX.

Even so, many players complained they were unable to obtain the emote, leading to criticism of the distribution method as the “worst” and overall “a mess.” It’s a complicated situation, but there is at least a way to get the skin for free when it arrives in Fortnite.
