The Fortnite community is experiencing frustration and debate as players suspect that smurfing is causing an inflation of victory crowns in easy lobbies.
The Skill-Based Matchmaking system utilized by Fortnite is specifically designed to generate fair and intense matches. Its primary objective is to match players with comparable skill levels in various game modes, including Solos, Duos, Trios, and Squads.
The aim is to emerge victorious, whether you are participating in Zero Build, Battle Royale, or Reload. Achieving victory in a game will grant you a Victory Crown, which you can proudly display using the Victory Crown emote. If you do not have any Victory Crowns for the current season, the number on a pillow will indicate this.
Some players on Reddit expressed worries about certain individuals taking advantage of the matchmaking system in order to increase their crown counts. Reports indicated that these players are using smurfing as a means of manipulating the system.
This was my first match of the season. Why am I being put up against this guy? byu/guhfgd inFortNiteBR
One player recounted their experience, stating, “During my initial match of the season, my opponent had 219 victory crowns. After defeating me, they proceeded to flaunt their crowns by using the Donkey Laugh and Take the L emotes.”
A different player provided an explanation for this occurrence, stating, “Players engage in smurfing and/or manipulate matchmaking in order to secure easier lobbies.”
In order to achieve this, they clarified that one could create a secondary account and purposefully perform poorly to be placed in easier matchmaking lobbies. Alternatively, they could invite a low-stat alt account to their party, allowing them to play at a lower skill level than their own.
Despite the community’s frustration with the stagnant state of the game, the addition of constant smurfs will only contribute to player discontent. Furthermore, the community has mocked the inclusion of the Cybertruck, joking about the strength of its windows.
As the mid-August end of Fortnite’s Chapter 5 Season 3 approaches, the vehicle meta, which even received criticism from Ninja for being “for losers,”will come to an end.
