Update 28.10 brought a lot of changes to Fortnite, and one of them has apparently improved aim assist by 20%.
Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1 significantly changed the way the game is played, with new modes and content to explore. The Battle Royale mode saw some of the biggest additions, with a new map and implementations such as the weapon modification system providing new experiences for players.
It’s been a little over a month since the season started, and while various fixes have been made, there are many issues that need fixing.
Update 28.10 then provided solutions to these issues with a set of fixes and even more content.
However, it seems that this latest update may have caused a bigger problem, and that concerns a massive boost to aim assist.
Update 28.10 reportedly increased aim assist by 20%
Reports of an aim assist boost began when Twitter/X user GabeCFN shared a preview of the game’s files, claiming that aim assist saw a massive buff with the new update.
Fortnite creator UpshallGames said that the aim assist when shooting without aiming has been improved and it has also been massively boosted when aiming.

Gabe then shared another opinion from content creator thekidswayy through a clip in which he “demonstrates” the aim assist improvements, eliminating two players.
“Look at this, I have aim assist through the walls. This is how it should be. This is how we level the playing field with mouse and keyboard players.”
