In celebration of May The 4th Be With You, Fortnite and Star Wars have once again teamed up for an exciting event and released a festive update filled with new content, skins, and goodies.

Fortnite x Star Wars – Patch v29.40 Breakdown

The highly anticipated Star Wars update, also known as patch v29.40, will be launching on May 3, 2024 for Fortnite. This update will bring a plethora of new cosmetics, quests, activities, and content for players to enjoy. Fans can look forward to embarking on a rebel adventure in Lego Fortnite, following the iconic events of the Star Wars franchise. Additionally, players can also participate in Star Wars quests within the standard Fortnite game or dance to some catchy tunes at the Fortnite Festival. With so much exciting content to explore, let’s dive right in.

Fortnite: Battle Royale

In Standard Fortnite, you can save your friends and defeat the enemies. With the latest Patch v29.40, you will have access to new allies, weapons, and quests to conquer. Take a quick and easy dive into all of it.

  • The NPC ally Chewbacca from Star Wars is now available to join your battles. However, he is currently imprisoned and in order to add him to your team, you must first break him out from a heavily guarded area. Chewbacca’s location will vary each match, but he can typically be found at a specific Imperial Roadblock. Once you successfully free him, he will fight alongside you using his signature Bowcaster.
  • Wookie Bowcaster – Upon rescuing Chewbacca, he will gratefully give you your own Bowcaster as a token of his appreciation for freeing him from the Imperial Roadblock. However, if you prefer not to rescue him, you can acquire a Bowcaster by opening Imperial Chests at various Imperial Roadblocks scattered throughout the map. With this powerful weapon, you have the option to fire rapid bursts of bolts or charge up a more powerful and explosive shot.
  • The lightsaber of Darth Vader is available once more, allowing you to defeat him and obtain his weapon to use against your enemies. Darth Vader and his soldiers will be arriving on the map in a Lambda Shuttle, giving you the opportunity to confront him. Similar to previous events, the lightsaber can be used to block ranged attacks and can also be used to strike enemies or thrown like a boomerang.
  • You can acquire a Stormtrooper Blaster by defeating stormtroopers, similar to how Darth Vader collects their weapons. These E-11 Blasters can be obtained by defeating stormtroopers in combat or by looting Imperial Chests at Darth Vader’s landing spot.
  • During the Star Wars Quests event, completing quests will grant you access to exclusive rewards. The event will be divided into two phases, with the first phase starting at 9 AM ET on May 3, 2024, and the second phase starting at 9 AM ET on May 7, 2024. Completing five quests will result in a guaranteed battle pass level up, and completing ten quests will unlock the AWR Pack Back Bling. These quests will be available until May 14, 2024 at 9 AM ET.
  • Fortnite is offering a variety of Star Wars-themed cosmetics in their shop, including Dagobah Luke, Lando Calrissian, and AWR Trooper. Additionally, fans can also purchase previously released Star Wars skins from past events.

Lego Fortnite: Spin-off Mode

Be a part of the galactic rebellion and fight against The Empire in Lego Fortnite. Help the rebels by constructing villages and utilizing tools such as lightsabers, blasters, and other weapons. Explore all the action and excitement.

  • Establishing Rebel Villages – Once you have explored the crash site in the new world, communicate with your rebel comrades who are in close proximity. They will supply you with a set of Macrobinoculars, which will guide you to the rebel village on Star Wars Island. The villagers will require your assistance in upgrading the village to level 10. Achieve tasks such as constructing rebel buildings and providing necessary resources to advance the village’s level.
  • Lightsabers can be found throughout the new world, but cannot be crafted. The only way to obtain them is by assisting the rebels in constructing their village. These formidable weapons have a finite amount of energy, meaning they must be recharged before each use.
  • Crafting Star Wars Weapons – In the new world, players will have the ability to create a variety of Star Wars weapons. These include Bowcasters, DL-44 Blasters, E-11 Blasters, and Thermal Detonators, all of which can be unlocked by collecting Durasteel and Scrap Durasteel. To construct these weapons, a rebel workbench will be necessary, which can be obtained by collecting Plastoid. These tools and weapons will continue to be available even after the conclusion of the Star Wars collaboration.
  • The upcoming event will include a free and premium battle pass that players can buy and utilize. By completing challenges, you can earn new decorations, general cosmetics, and building materials for your world.   • Rocket Racing will offer May the Fourth quests, inspired by Star Wars quests, beginning at 9 AM ET on May 3, 2024. By completing four quests, players can earn the Anakin’s Podracer Decal, and by finishing a total of eight quests, they can unlock the Darth Maul Decal.

  • Collect more instruments for your collection by completing the Star Wars quests in Fortnite Festival. By completing four quests, you can unlock a battle pass level up and by completing seven, you can obtain the Seven-string Hallikset Guitar.
  • You can purchase the “Cantina Band”Jam Track, Endorian Drum Kit, and Nalargon Keytar at the shop to enjoy playing music and jamming with your friends throughout the game.
