Fortnite’s Doom Skin Now Compatible with Victory Von Doom Emote, But There’s a Catch

<p>One of the most iconic Doctor Doom emotes has finally been made compatible with the latest Doom skin in Fortnite, but the situation is a bit more complicated than expected.

Fortnite’s Absolute Doom event introduced new objectives for players to complete in order to earn a distinctive Doctor Doom skin. However, many fans were disappointed to discover that the much-loved Victory Von Doom emote, originally introduced in Chapter 2 Season 4’s Battle Pass, could not be used with this new skin.

While it’s common for certain emotes to be tied to specific skins, players were eager to utilize this emote with the new Doom skin. Fortunately, with the release of update 31.20, players can now use the emote where Doom sits ominously on his throne, but only with the Chapter 5 Season 4’s Doom skin.

There is, however, a significant catch. Some players realized that this feature is only available to those who had unlocked the original Doom skin back in Chapter 2 Season 4.

This Reddit user shared a screenshot displaying their possession of both the Victory Von Doom emote and the new Doctor Doom skin, yet they received a message stating, “Reach Level 76 and complete Doctor Doom Awakening Challenges to unlock.”

This means that even if players have the emote, they will still be unable to use it unless they earned the Doom skin four years ago.

Responses to the post echoed the frustration of the original poster regarding this puzzling limitation. One comment questioned, “So I’m going to have to stare at this emote even though I can’t use it?”

Another user remarked, “Honestly I understand why they wouldn’t give it to players who didn’t own it before, but showing it still but being unable to use it is sorta absurd.”

Others shared their sarcasm about having a permanently locked cosmetic, while some users reminisced about how this was their first emote. A player even mentioned this was their third or fourth emote, indicating that this is not the first occurrence of such a situation.

In other news, the Day of Doom LTM is available for players to enjoy, and a Fortnite developer has explained the reasoning behind the latest aim assist changes.
