Fortnite’s Reload Mode is Popular Among Players, But There’s a Catch

The highly anticipated Reload mode has finally arrived in Fortnite, but a certain problem is preventing some players from fully enjoying it. Despite its positive reception, this issue is hindering the complete enjoyment of the mode.

Following the release of a short teaser and trailer showcasing characters such as Kai Cenat, Sketch, Duke, and more, the Fortnite Reload game mode has officially landed in Chapter 5, Season 3. This mode brings back iconic POIs from the past like Tilted Towers and Retail Row, allowing players to engage in high-speed battles against other squads.

One of the main features of this mode is that, in addition to having access to the original weapons, the reboot mechanic has been modified. Unlike in Battle Royale and Zero Build, players can be brought back into the game without having to retrieve their Reboot Cards or use a Reboot Van.

It is evident that a large number of players are thoroughly enjoying the original Fortnite experience once again, as seen by the success of Fortnite Reload in terms of concurrent players. However, amidst the excitement and enjoyment of this mode, some players have raised a significant concern in a Reddit discussion.

Tilted Towers is one of the POIs in Fortnite’s Reload mode.

“One player expressed confusion about the presence of full squads of purple skull troopers and superhero skins performing quad edits in the game. They questioned why these “sweats,”known for their use of superhero skins, were even allowed in ranked matches.”

Another user echoed, “I wish SBMM was implemented because I feel like I have no chance in any fight.”

Some other players also expressed that they feel the mode is a great addition to Fortnite, but they have been having a negative experience due to the absence of SBMM or skill-based matchmaking, which has allowed sweats to dominate the gameplay.

Another individual stated: “It’s an intense and sweaty experience, and it seems like Epic has disregarded skill-based matchmaking because it’s just too much.”

When discussing this matter, a user contended that it is not surprising, as Fortnite Reload is a “high-speed mode,”thus it will naturally attract “the most competitive players.”

They commented, “This is always the case for any competitive game that releases a mode like that. It’s a sad reality.”

In any mode you play in Fortnite, the experience of facing sweats will always be present. However, in the all-new game mode, some players are becoming more aware of their presence.
