Since the inclusion of Fortnite’s War Machine Arsenal Mythics and Captain America’s Shield in Chapter 5, Season 4 of the Battle Royale, players have once again encountered a formidable meta.
Despite the plethora of new additions, the War Machine Hover Jets have been deemed a crucial item in order to have a fighting chance until the endgame.
Despite the decrease in spawn rates, obtaining this item continues to be a difficult task and facing an opponent who has it can be incredibly frustrating. However, players have shared their strategies for countering the jetpack in a Reddit thread, highlighting its impact on endgame situations.

According to one player, the majority of enemies “use the jetpack until it runs out of fuel and then become unsure of what to do.”
If you find yourself in that situation, make sure to have a reliable AR as it will outperform any other weapon they may have. When the chance presents itself, you will be able to easily eliminate them while they are in mid-air. In Chapter 5 Season 4, there are plenty of AR options available, and they can often be found easily.
The AR is an unexpectedly effective means of countering Captain America’s Shield, as it enables you to repeatedly attack and break through their defense.
In addition to utilizing the AR, another user proposed, “Avoid them until their energy is depleted, then approach them. Avoid being cornered in low, vulnerable locations. Taking cover behind an SUV on higher ground is effective.”
In agreement with this, another user stated that they have had great success in luring opponents to use up their fuel with the Doom Gauntlets and a car. Once they have depleted their fuel, the player would then make a bold move with the gauntlets.
“Additionally, having a car will enable you to stay within range of your target while they are airborne. You can simply step out of the car and engage in shooting while they exhaust their fuel.”
With the constant evolution of new items and weapons in the Battle Royale, players must continually adjust and develop new tactics in order to achieve a Victory Royale.
