Fox bites man’s leg

A video of a man getting bitten by a wild fox mere seconds after referring to it as ‘friendly’ has gone viral and is causing a stir on social media.

In the UK, it is not uncommon to spot a wild fox roaming around town from time to time. However, one man in Weston, England was in for a surprise when one of these animals unexpectedly bit down on his leg.

In a video that is going viral on social media, a group of men can be observed standing together on the street, talking about a fox that has been spotted roaming in their community.

One of the lads explained that the animal would come up to you and you would feed it, but his mate interrupted by mentioning that the animal was probably “full of fleas.”

“The other man was adamant, “It does get checked,”he said. “There’s a vet overseeing it. See for yourself.”

At that precise moment, the fox approached the man and nibbled at the top of his shin, causing his friends to burst into laughter and teasing the man as the animal scurried away onto the road.

The man pleading the critter’s case couldn’t believe it when the animal managed to draw blood with its teeth.

“The most frustrating aspect is that I was actually trying to encourage it!”he exclaimed. “I was hyping it up and everything.”

The comical video has been shared multiple times on the internet since April 2024, causing viewers to be both entertained and worried about the man’s injury.

“One netizen recommended giving him a rabies shot.”

Another person commented that the fox relies on people being afraid of him.

Another person wished good luck in fighting the infection.

Although some viewers may express concern, the likelihood of contracting a disease from a fox bite in the United Kingdom is extremely low. According to The Fox Project, a UK wildlife charity, there have been no reported cases of parvovirus or distemper in foxes in the UK.

Red foxes are a common sight in the UK.

According to experts, those concerned about catching something from a potential fox bite or scratch can rest assured as these animals have a lower risk of infection compared to domestic cats, which are actually more likely to transmit infections.

Despite the rarity of recorded instances of foxes being aggressive towards strangers, it is possible for bites to occur when individuals attempt to feed or get too close to these wild animals. However, such “attacks”are highly uncommon and foxes are generally not perceived as a danger to humans.
