Despite the positive connection between Fraser and a charter guest on Below Deck Season 11, their kiss in episode 14 has received criticism from some viewers.
In the eleventh season of Below Deck, Episode 14 featured a heated interaction between Fraser, the Chief Steward, and guest Steven, who was playfully referred to as Fraser’s “husband”.
Despite many jokes implying that Steven would propose at midnight, Barbie suggested that they share a “New Year’s kiss”and Fraser eagerly agreed.
After receiving permission, it only took a short while for the two to exchange a playful peck as midnight arrived. This left Fraser feeling butterflies and openly expressing a desire for more.
After their charter concludes, the crew goes out to celebrate and it is revealed that Fraser has been texting Steven.
Steven expresses his desire to see Fraser before he leaves the next day, prompting the Chief Stew to invite his charter crush out for a night of clubbing, encouraged by their fellow crewmates. The chemistry between the two is instant, as they exchange passionate kisses and openly admit to being “obsessed”with each other.
Despite this, there were some viewers who were not impressed by the boatmance. In a Reddit post regarding episode 14, one user expressed that Fraser’s behavior was “inappropriate.”
“They questioned why Frasier was praised for the same action that caused Hannah Ferrier to be ridiculed for texting charter guest Jason Ziegler during a past season of Below Deck Mediterranean.”
Another individual also concurred, stating “Exactly.”At the same time, a third person put forward the idea that the circumstances were altered since Fraser had initially sought approval from Captain Kerry prior to taking action.
It is currently uncertain if the bond between the two men will progress, but Fraser has already been featured on Steven’s Instagram page.
