Sledgehammer Games launched the final season of content for MW3 on September 18, and numerous Call of Duty players are reporting the arrival of free codes for the Season 6 Battle Pass.
This new season features a Halloween-themed update, introducing an exciting Haunting event in Modern Warfare 3, alongside significant balance modifications to key weapons such as the Vaznev-9K, Static-HV, and STG44.
This content bundle marks the last update planned for the Call of Duty series before the highly anticipated release of Black Ops 6, which will take over as the primary title.
Interestingly, some players have noted that Sledgehammer has been distributing free codes for the final Battle Pass, particularly targeting users who have not engaged with the FPS for several months.
Season 6 represents the final large update for MW3 before BO6 takes the lead.
In a Reddit post, an MW3 player urged others to check their emails after sharing their experience of receiving a free code despite having not played the game for a long time.
“I admit I didn’t play at all in season 5 and not much in season 4, so this is presumably a comeback and play gift, but hey, I like free stuff. Check your emails,” the player mentioned.
Responses from other players in the thread suggested that Activision or Sledgehammer aims to enhance user retention by enticing inactive players back to the game with complimentary content.
While it’s typical for live service games to distribute free Battle Passes or cosmetic items through social media promotions or streaming rewards, the Call of Duty franchise has not been known for its generosity regarding free content for its major titles.
Players who have shifted their focus from MW3 to the Black Ops 6 beta or other FPS titles for an extended timeframe should check the emails associated with their Call of Duty accounts to see if they’ve received a complimentary Battle Pass.
