Free Streaming Now Available for Menendez Brothers Movie Featuring Courtney Love

If you’re eager to dive deeper into true crime inspired by the Menendez brothers, there’s a film titled Menendez: Blood Brothers featuring Courtney Love as Kitty that you can stream right now.

Before Netflix, in collaboration with Ryan Murphy, brought the controversial tale of the Menendez brothers to the forefront in Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story, Lifetime delivered their own adaptation with Menendez: Blood Brothers.

This TV movie, which premiered in 2017, stars Courtney Love portraying Mary “Kitty” Menendez. The cast also includes Nico Tortorella (known for The Walking Dead: World Beyond) playing Lyle Menendez, as well as Myko Olivier and Benito Martinez in the roles of Erik and Jose, respectively.

Blood Brothers is currently available for free streaming on Tubi, making it an excellent choice for those looking to bridge the gap between Monsters and Netflix’s upcoming documentary, The Menendez Brothers.

Similar to the latest streaming sensation, Blood Brothers chronicles the lives of Jose Menendez and his family leading up to the murders, as well as the subsequent trial and its aftermath.

Unfortunately, Blood Brothers has not received favorable critiques, currently holding a 28% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, which parallels the 44% for Monsters.

This trend raises alarms that the most prominent adaptations of the Menendez case have faced negative reviews, indicating that the case might continue to spark controversy regardless of the medium.

Since airing, Monsters has faced accusations of fabricating an incestuous relationship between the brothers, drawing criticism from Erik Menendez himself.

However, a silver lining for Blood Brothers is its Lifetime branding, which is known for producing entertaining true crime adaptations, even if they sometimes lean towards cheesy.

Over the years, Lifetime has tackled several notable cases, including those of Casey Anthony, Amanda Knox, and JonBenet Ramsey.
