Despite his role as a mediator between the Empire and the Continental Magic Association, he no longer feels a strong enough connection to be involved in their secretive plans. However, he does not regret becoming a First Class Mage as it allowed him to regain something that he had lost long ago.

Despite Sense’s apology, she still struggles to believe Denken. In his position, Denken understands why Sense would doubt him. He then offers to get her a dessert of her choice as a First Class Mage.

Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End – Chapter 132: Reunion and Reconciliation

After talking with Denken, Sense goes back to the inn and joins back up with Frieren and the rest of the group. Frieren is still upset about the counterfeit artifact, and Sense discovers more about her predicament from Fern. In an attempt to comfort the mage, Sense reminds her that even seemingly useless items can have their uses.

She grasps the artifact using her hair and moves towards the elven mage. Frieren cautions Sense against touching her, citing that her (Sense’s) hair has a strong scent of blood. However, the mage insists that this cannot be true as she had thoroughly washed it. Sensing Frieren’s unusual behavior, Sense turns to Fern and inquires about the reason behind it.

The mage apprentice clarifies that every decade, Frieren experiences a period of intense anger, but it usually subsides after she calms down for ten minutes. In chapter 132 of Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End, Sense inquires of Fern if her hair truly has a sweet smell. Fern confirms and even admits to wanting to eat it because of its delightful scent.

Sense is struck by Fern’s peculiar reaction, leading her to believe that Frieren and her mage apprentice share certain similarities. As the elven mage returns to her usual self, she insists that Stark come with her to confront the vendor about the counterfeit item. Despite Sense’s reminder that she is currently on duty, Frieren dismisses the matter as irrelevant.
