Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End chapter 133 was released on September 11, 2024, via Viz Media. In this chapter, the focus was on the Shadow Warriors’ secret meeting where their plans to target Serie’s bodyguards were unveiled. It also revealed Frieren’s intentions regarding the silver coins she had given to Gazelle.

Previously, Frieren had been misled by a shadow warrior disguised as a vendor who sold her a counterfeit Unified Empire artifact. However, the Elven mage was aware of his true nature, so she enhanced her silver coins with mana during the transaction, allowing her to possibly track the man’s location.

The chapter featured a dialogue between Sense and Denken, where Sense was astonished that Denken was unaware of the empire’s assassination mission against Serie. Additionally, the meeting among the Shadow Warriors continued to unfold.

He mentions this was during the upheaval caused by the late Emperor’s succession dispute but chooses to keep further mission specifics confidential. Meanwhile, Gazelle shares that he met Frieren and Stark at his shop.

Although he believes he wouldn’t have stood a chance in a fight against them, the Shadow Warrior acknowledges his mental readiness to sacrifice his life for the mission. He questions whether they can defeat Serie, a mage who has existed since the mythical era, refusing to accept a futile death.

In this chapter, Schritt displays a Holy Wand Emblem to Gazelle, who recognizes it as belonging to Minus, a Great Mage who turned rogue two decades earlier.

Schritt recounts the legend of an unnamed warrior from a distant nation who defeated Minus, albeit at the cost of one eye. When Gazelle questions the authenticity of the tale, Schritt assures him that Minus really did vanish from the world.

Later, Schritt explains to Gazelle that in the realm of magic, one cannot materialize what they do not visualize. Additionally, their commander, Lowe, never regarded the Great Mages as unbeatable creatures.

Iris demonstrates her abilities by catching a poisoned arrow in her mouth. They realize that Wolf must have set up traps. When Routine checks on Iris, she reveals her resistance to poison, prompting Routine to think of Walross’s deadly anti-poison ability.

As they proceed, Iris senses they are being followed but quickly dismisses the notion, excited for a life-threatening challenge. The chapter reveals Falsch is stalking them.

The elven mage reveals to Stark and Fern that she used Pursuit Magic on the silver coins given to Gazelle. She suspected Gazelle might be a Shadow Warrior when she saw him conversing with Walross.

Frieren recognizes Walross as Rasen from 80 years prior, recalling his heroism in reclaiming a third of the Empire’s territory from demons. Despite the passage of time, Frieren distinctly remembers his face.

She finds it suspicious that he is operating under a different name. Stark questions what would happen if Gazelle had already spent the silver coins, to which Frieren reassures him that it’s unlikely given their high value.

Fern struggles to trust Frieren’s deductions, arguing that her theories seem speculative. Stark defends her, but Fern reminds him of the doubts surrounding her judgments, especially regarding Grimoire. The chapter concludes comically with Frieren lamenting the money she lost to Gazelle.
