Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End Chapter 134: Wehlros Updates Clematis on the Escape Route

Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End chapter 134, titled “Track Back,”begins with Wehlros, the dwarven Shadow Warrior, arriving at Clematis’s location. Clematis welcomes him and inquires about recent developments.

Wehlros informs the priest that the escape route from the Unified Empire era remains viable. Interestingly, his report stands in contrast to what Clematis received from Routine, who stated that the midpoint of the route is completely waterlogged and thus unpassable.

However, Wehlros reassures Clematis after personally inspecting the area. He believes that traversing the water should pose no challenge for a warrior, provided they maintain their sense of direction in the dark. Wehlros estimates the escape route can be cleared in just 20 minutes.

Clematis expresses his appreciation for Wehlros’s insights and encourages him to take a seat, acknowledging him as one of the Shadow Warriors’ most valuable assets. He requests Sister Lore to bring some tea in Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End chapter 134, but the sister declines, opting instead to fetch wine for an upcoming ceremony.

While Clematis searches for tea in the kitchen, Wehlros confides that he feels he is the only one in the Shadow who holds him in high regard; he feels Commander Lowe has surpassed him in strength. Wehlros wishes he were merely ten years younger, but Clematis reassures him that Wehlros still possesses formidable skills despite his age.

The narrative shifts focus to Lore, who is in search of wine for the Foundation Day Ceremony alongside Schritt, Gazelle, and others. Gazelle expresses disbelief at Schritt and Lore’s nonchalant attitude, given the imminent danger they face in two days.

Wolf, however, reminds him that the lives of the Shadow Warriors revolve around relishing small “everyday moments.”During this discussion, Sister Lore spots Wolf with some silver coins.

She watches them closely and discovers that the coins carry a tracking spell. Though Gazelle is skeptical, Lore explains that it’s only logical since silver serves as a catalyst that conceals mana. She deduces that the spell was cast by a highly skilled mage. With their position disclosed, Lore instructs Wolf and Gazelle to gear up for battle.

In another location, Frieren senses something amiss. Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End chapter 134 concludes with the elven mage alerting Stark and Fern that the Shadow Warriors have effectively counter-tracked them.
