Despite holding the title of Universal Emperor in the world of Dragon Ball, Frieza’s strength and actions are often likened to that of a God of Destruction.
Despite not achieving the position in the original manga series, Frieza takes over the prestigious position in the doujinshi series Dragon Ball Kakumei. Interestingly, once in power, he begins to exhibit behavior similar to that of Lucifer.
Dragon Ball Kakumei is a manga series created by fans that portrays the events occurring post-Tournament of Power. Following Universe 7’s victory in the tournament, Android 17 used his wish to revive all of the erased universes.
In the original series, exclusively the universes that got eliminated during the tournament were revived. Nevertheless, in the doujinshi series, all previously existing universes were restored.

How did Frieza become the Lucifer of the Dragon Ball universe?
In the doujinshi series, Android 17’s wish to bring back all the erased universes resulted in the return of seven universes that were not featured in the original manga. As a result, the series’ verse contained a total of 19 universes, including the 18 that were previously known and an additional one known as Universe 0.
Although it was a reunion, it was far from pleasant. As soon as they were restored, the Gods of Destruction and angels from universes 13 to 18 appeared at Zeno’s palace to confront the Grand Priest. Led by the mother of all angels, this group aimed to overthrow the divine hierarchy and eliminate the trial that the father of angels was fixated on.
Despite fans possibly anticipating the introduction of new characters, they were surprised to see a familiar face as the God of Destruction of Universe 18 – none other than Frieza. It appeared that after being revived by Whis following the Tournament of Power, Frieza sought out and defeated Universe 18’s God of Destruction before taking over the vacant position.
Despite the initial expectation that the mother of angels would be enraged by this action, it was surprising to see her grant Frieza hidden powers after sensing his bloodlust, potential, and thirst for power. This act was reminiscent of how Gohan and Krillin received an energy boost from Guru during the Namek Saga in the franchise. However, unlike them, Frieza was now able to tap into the power of a god, making him capable of even facing off against Universe 7’s God of Destruction, Beerus, if the need arose.
In the Bible, it is revealed that Lucifer rebelled against God in an attempt to eliminate agency. This would have resulted in a world where no one could sin against God, ultimately leading to no souls being lost. As a result, individuals would have been able to return to the presence of Heavenly Father without the need for a Savior, completely free from sin.
Upon comparison to the events portrayed in the doujinshi manga, it is apparent that they bear striking similarities. In both situations, there is a faction advocating for the removal of certain systems implemented by a higher authority. In this context, Frieza can be likened to Lucifer as he rebelled against the established Gods and angels, much like the previously erased gods and angels who can be equated to fallen angels.
Looking at it from this angle, one could argue that Frieza could be considered the Lucifer of the franchise. The only unfortunate aspect of this analogy is that Dragon Ball Kakumei is a fan-made series.
