Yuri was adored for her vibrant energy and strong physique, earning her the title of the group’s visual member. Her radiating beauty and perfect execution of the uniform concept during the “Genie”promotion solidified her presence in the public eye.

As a matter of fact, Yuri only went to the audition in 2001 to support her friend who was interested in auditioning. However, unexpectedly, she ended up being selected as an idol trainee. Recalling her past appearance on an entertainment program, Yuri shared, “My friend had mentioned applying for the audition and had asked me to assist her as a backup dancer.”

Sharing the details of her casting process, Yuri recalled, “During the audition, they played a song and requested that I sing and dance. Following that, they invited me and my parents to the company where we met with the boss. He then offered me a contract to sign with the company.”

Despite failing to debut three or five years after becoming a trainee, Yuri expressed her anxiety about not seeing her fellow trainees debut and appear on TV. She even considered giving up on her dream, thinking it may not be meant for her. However, she persevered through all the challenges during her training period and eventually debuted after 7 years, alongside her fellow trainees.

Despite being in the entertainment industry for a significant amount of time, Yuri continues to showcase her diverse talents in various fields such as acting, music, social media, and entertainment programs. Most recently, she has joined Yoo Jae-suk, Kim Dong-hyun, and Dex in Season 3 of Disney+’s original show “The Zone: Survival Mission.”
