Fromis_9 Member Chaeyoung Expresses Disappointment Over Group’s Lack of Activity

Chaeyoung, a member of fromis_9, has shared her thoughts on the girl group’s lack of activity.

After being acquired by HYBE Labels, Pledis Entertainment signed fromis_9 as their first girl group. While some had initial doubts about the move, as the group had faced mistreatment under their former label Off the Record Entertainment, those doubts were quickly dispelled.

It seems that the fromis_9 members have also taken notice of it.

During a recent live stream, Chaeyoung, the main dancer of fromis_9, addressed the group’s limited amount of activities.

She expressed her desire to update her photo on Weverse and urged the group to become more active as soon as possible. It was evident that she was concerned about the group’s lack of recent releases, and she emphasized her eagerness to resume group activities.

She then inquired about the reason behind fromis_9 being the only HYBE Labels group that was not currently active, asking, “Why is it that only fromis_9 has to wait a significant amount of time to be active? Why them specifically?”

The idol then stated, “It’s unfortunate.”

Chaeyoung mentioned that the group also has a fan base known as the Flovers. She expressed, “I am grateful for my Flovers, my fans. They are also our Flovers…”

The idol reassured her fans that she intends to meet with them despite their busy schedules, stating, “Although we currently have events, I will still make time to meet with Flovers and recharge.”

After watching the live streams, supporters flocked to X (previously known as Twitter) to make the hashtags #fromis_9DeserveBetter and #PLEDIS_TREAT_FROMIS_BETTER trend. They are calling for the girl group to have a comeback in the near future and for their current agency, Pledis Entertainment, to improve their treatment of the group.

Fromis_9’s most recent comeback was in May 2023 with their first studio album, “Unlock My World,”and the lead single, “#menow.”Their latest musical release was the single “Love Me Back,”which was included in the OST album for the Naver webtoon, “Operation: True Love,”and was released in October 2023.

This implies that it has been more than a year since the girl group’s previous comeback.
