Fromis_9 Shares How They Found Out About Their Comeback from Fans

One member of fromis_9 disclosed that the group had not been informed about their upcoming comeback and only found out about it through their fans.

On May 31, 2024, PLEDIS Entertainment announced to various media outlets that fromis_9 would be making a comeback in August with a new album. This marks the girl group’s first return in over a year and two months.

Nevertheless, it seems that the company notified media outlets prior to notifying its own members.

On June 4, numerous media sources circulated a video of Hayoung, a member of the group, discussing their upcoming comeback on a radio show. During the interview, she disclosed that she had no knowledge of the group working on an album set to be released in August.

Upon being asked, she disclosed that she had only learned about the comeback through fan interactions. She also mentioned that the group has not been actively preparing for a comeback and she personally believes that the group may not be fully prepared for it at this time.

This news sparked anger among fans and Korean netizens. PLEDIS Entertainment was heavily criticized for their lack of professionalism and for hindering fromis_9’s new music releases.

There are those who suggest that it would be more beneficial for the group to part ways with PLEDIS instead of enduring mistreatment.
