FromSoftware President Discusses Possibility of Elden Ring Movie with One Condition

FromSoftware President Hidetaka Miyazaki caused quite a stir when he revealed his interest in creating an Elden Ring movie. However, there is one condition.

The Shadow of the Erdtree DLC for Elden Ring has become a hot topic among players as they eagerly take on FromSoftware’s newest challenges. However, some have chosen to overcome these obstacles by exploiting the incredibly overpowered Sorcery.

Although facing difficult bosses with a fresh set of weapons and armor is a significant appeal, we have always been captivated by FromSoftware’s distinct storytelling style. While Shadow of the Erdtree offers plenty of mind-boggling lore revelations, it raises the question of how effectively these elements would translate to a cinematic adaptation.

Hidetaka Miyazaki, the mastermind behind Soulsborne, recently expressed his interest in exploring the possibility. In a conversation with The Guardian, Miyazaki shared his thoughts on the potential for an Elden Ring film, but emphasized the importance of doing it justice.

The whole theatre is going to cry when we get here.

“While I am open to the idea of another interpretation or adaptation of Elden Ring, such as a movie, I don’t believe that either myself or FromSoftware possess the necessary knowledge or skill to create something in a different medium.”

To make an Elden Ring film a reality, Miyazaki emphasized the importance of having a reliable partner in the filmmaking industry. He stressed the need for building trust and reaching a mutual understanding in order to successfully achieve their goals. However, he confirmed that there is definitely interest in the project.

With George R.R Martin’s involvement in the game’s writing and worldbuilding, and the success of previous adaptations of his work, it is certainly possible for an Elden Ring movie to be made. However, the challenge lies in FromSoftware’s complex storytelling style, which may pose a hurdle. It is yet to be seen if fans would be open to a more condensed version of the expansive story.

Regardless, it cannot be denied that Elden Ring holds significant brand power, having sold over 25 million copies of the base game. A potential Elden Ring movie could potentially attract more players and introduce them to the vast world of the game.
