Following her controversial interview with Piers Morgan on Baby Reindeer, Fiona Harvey is now requesting additional compensation for her appearance.
The interview, which was published on Piers Morgan’s YouTube channel on May 9, has now accumulated more than 11 million views. Despite being dubbed by fans of the Netflix series as the “real-life Martha”, Fiona Harvey has refuted these claims.
Initially, it was stated that Harvey received a payment of £250 ($315) for the controversial interview. However, she is now requesting a six-figure amount of £1 million (approximately $1.25 million in US dollars).
According to the Daily Record, she stated that she was offered £250 and inquired if that was the standard payment for all interviewees. She then requested documentation to confirm this, but it has not been provided. She clarified that she has not signed a contract for the interview and intends to negotiate for a much higher compensation, preferably one million pounds.
Although I came across an article online that claimed Piers felt remorseful towards me, I knew better than to believe it. His employees were putting on a facade, assuring me that everything was fine, but when I finally met with him, he couldn’t even bring himself to make eye contact. It was all just a show. He didn’t even bother saying goodbye and only took a photo with me for the sake of publicity.
As reported by Daily Record, a source close to Piers Morgan revealed, “We had a prearranged fee for Fiona’s appearance and also covered the costs for her hair, make-up, and transportation.”
The popular interview has sparked intense responses from the general population, with numerous individuals criticizing it for being inappropriate. During the discussion, Harvey made several startling statements and accusations, including claiming that Baby Reindeer was exaggerated and its writer, Richard Gadd, suffered from severe mental health issues.
Furthermore, Harvey has explicitly stated her intentions to take legal action against Netflix, strongly criticizing the behavior of the streaming service.
“She emphasized, “If the show cannot be easily shut down and if the money, £1 million, is not provided, politicians will take action and shut it down. The behavior of Netflix has been a topic of discussion in Parliament and throughout the country, and this could lead to the show’s immediate closure. They are aware of my demand for at least £1 million.”
