Future Destiny 2 update will rework Blight Ranger and other underused Exotics

According to developers, Exotic armor pieces like the Blight Ranger gear will undergo a rework in the upcoming Destiny 2 update.

Despite its visually striking design, Blight Ranger, an Exotic helmet for the Hunter, failed to gain popularity among Destiny 2 fans.

Despite the efforts of the developers to fix bugs and make adjustments to the item, it has always been plagued by issues. One significant bug, which caused damage to not be accurately reflected, has been particularly problematic. Despite continuous tweaks and improvements, players continue to deem it as one of the most undesirable Exotic armor pieces in all of Destiny.

The community’s persistent appeals for the enhancement of the helmet may finally be granted. According to a blog post on Thursday, August 8 by Bungie, the upcoming episode of The Final Shape, titled Revenant, will introduce “improvements and modifications”for Exotic armor pieces that are currently not utilized enough.

The affected armor pieces in Destiny 2, including Blight Ranger, Mask of the Quiet One, and Skull of Dire Ahamkara, will be impacted by the upcoming changes. As of writing, there is no information available about the specific alterations that will be made to these Exotic items.

Additionally, the post mentioned that players can anticipate “numerous other minor adjustments to Exotic armor that will offer valuable enhancements to utility.”

It is currently uncertain when Episode 2: Revenant will be released. The first Episode’s Act 3 is scheduled for August 27, but its end date has not been confirmed yet.

Considering this, it is possible that we will have to wait for several weeks for adjustments to be made to the Blight Ranger and other Exotics that are not being utilized to their full potential.

These recent update plans from Bungie follow closely after the release of the 8.0.5 patch, which was met with some criticism from the community. The patch included changes such as a nerf to rocket jumping with The Mountaintop launcher and a significant decrease in the firing rate of the Graviton Lance.

The developers will at least focus on fixing the latter issue in an upcoming hotfix. However, a firm due date for this fix is currently unavailable.
