Gaara Remains the Top Target in the Narutoverse: Proof in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter 14

The highly anticipated **Boruto: Two Blue Vortex chapter 14** was released on September 21, 2024. This chapter prominently featured the interrogation of the main character, climaxing with the re-emergence of the **God Trees** in the **Hidden Sand Village**. Here, the newly awakened **Ryu God Tree** proved to be a formidable adversary, overpowering Gaara and his son Shinki.

Ironically, this moment serves as a nostalgic reminder of the original **Naruto series**, where the One-tail Jinchuriki, Gaara, faced similar predicaments—be it his confrontation with Rock Lee during the **Chunin Exams** or his battle with the **Akatsuki** when his-tailed beast was extracted. As a result, Gaara continues to be depicted as a punching bag in the sequel series, despite being one of the most powerful characters.

In **Boruto: Two Blue Vortex chapter 14**, the narrative centers around the protagonist’s interrogation following his capture by Konohamaru and his team in the previous chapter. This interrogation concluded with the protagonist inadvertently causing chaos in the room, which also affected the village, facilitated by Mitsuki and Shikamaru.

Subsequent to this event, Shikamaru spoke with Sarada and Sumire but received an urgent call from Kankuro, who pleaded for assistance as the **God Trees** were launching an assault on the **Hidden Sand Village**. Tragically, Gaara and his adoptive son Shinki had already been defeated, leaving the village vulnerable with no protector.

Despite his esteemed position as **Kazekage** (leader of the Hidden Sand Village), Gaara has consistently been portrayed as a target throughout the series. His defeat at the hands of the newly awakened God Tree, named Ryu, is not entirely unexpected.

Initially introduced as a terrifying figure with the potential to eliminate Jounin Shinobi at a young age, Gaara faced Rock Lee during the final round of the **Chunin Exams**. Underestimating the abilities of the Hidden Leaf Shinobi, he quickly found himself outmatched.

As their battle commenced, Rock Lee displayed remarkable speed that astonished onlookers. However, the tide turned when he shed his body weights, rendering Gaara’s sand shield ineffective against him.

Lee unleashed a flurry of attacks, showcasing Gaara’s first experience as a punching bag during their encounter. Later in **Naruto Shippuden**, Gaara found himself cornered by **Deidara**, an Akatsuki member, who planned to extract his **tailed beast** for the organization’s sinister agenda.

As anticipated, Gaara fought valiantly against Deidara, yet he was outsmarted by the Akatsuki member’s strategic intelligence and explosive clay. After being captured, Gaara endured three harrowing days of extraction, ultimately leading to his demise. Fortunately, allies from the Hidden Sand Village, along with the protagonist, arrived just in time, with Granny Chiyo sacrificing her life to restore Gaara’s.

Reflecting on these past experiences, it appears Gaara may face a similar fate in **Boruto: Two Blue Vortex chapter 14**, as the Ryu God Tree seems poised to target him, much like previous God Trees. This foreshadowing raises concerns that Gaara might meet his end in the next chapter, allowing Ryu to attain perfection after consuming the Kazekage.
