Fans are expressing their support for YouTube star Gabbie Hanna after she released a 17-minute apology video that addresses a series of incidents that raised concern among her audience.
Gabbie Hanna is a prominent content creator known for her rise to fame on Vine before expanding her presence on platforms like TikTok and YouTube.
In recent years, Hanna has drawn concern from her followers, particularly after posting over one hundred videos on her TikTok account in a single day back in August 2022.
She later described this overwhelming output as a manic episode related to her bipolar disorder. In 2023, she took a year-long break from all her social media accounts but returned in 2024 with vlog-style content on her main YouTube channel, The Gabbie Show.
During the manic episode, Gabbie posted numerous videos discussing various topics, including religion and death, which unsettled her audience.
On September 12, 2024, she shared a video titled “A Long Overdue Apology,” where she sat outdoors while delivering heartfelt apologies to her former collaborators, managers, agents, and even networks like MTV.
Hanna expressed that the ten-year anniversary of her YouTube channel motivated her to reflect on her past behavior, leading her to compile a list of individuals she felt needed to hear her apologies.
“A special ‘I’m sorry’ goes out to MTV and YouTube, because I was difficult to work with,” she admitted. “I took a lot of opportunities that I didn’t deserve.”
“I was selfish,” she stated while reading from her notes. “[I] only cared about how I could benefit. Thank you. I’m sorry, and I got my lick back.”
Gabbie apologized to her friends for “gossiping” and being a “dark cloud” of negativity during her career, acknowledging her past “storytime” videos that focused on others.
Throughout her video, she mentioned her renewed focus on religion, sharing that “God humbled me and taught me empathy.” She also indicated that she is in the process of deleting much of her previous content that no longer aligns with her current beliefs and that it “wasn’t a representation of Christ.”
She apologized to her fans for being a “bad role model,” saying she showed “poor and reckless behavior,” characterizing her old self as “self-centered, vain, and prideful.”
At one point, she spontaneously broke into song, indicating a moment of impromptu worship. Gabbie referred to her past self as an “NPC” and a “robot” for lacking the Holy Spirit at that time.
Currently, Gabbie claims she is “doing everything [she] can to counteract” her former content and aims to maintain consistency in her uploads and “do better” overall.
She concluded her video with a five-minute prayer while the screen was darkened.
The audience reaction so far has been overwhelmingly positive. Many commenters praised Hanna for her apparent growth and maturity, with one remarking that her video “felt so healing.”
YouTuber Joey Graceffa also discussed the situation in a TikTok video, expressing that he accepts her apology and found her words to be “sincere.”
“I personally can see the growth that she has undergone. I am happy to bury it,” he commented.

He echoed similar sentiments in the comments under her YouTube video, to which Gabbie responded with a heart emoji.
However, some viewers are calling for Hanna to address her fallout with Jessi Smiles, a fellow YouTuber with whom Gabbie experienced a dramatic conflict in 2019-2020.
While Gabbie didn’t mention names in her video, many believe her general apology extends to Smiles and others with whom she had contentious relationships.
