In addition, the image also includes a Japanese tagline that translates to the following in English:

“The world will change. All common sense will be overturned.”

While the promotional video combines elements of the manga’s illustrations, scenes from the anime, and Ando’s graffiti art, it also sets the tone for the upcoming Gachiakuta anime. This highly anticipated series will follow the story of Rudo, a young boy living in the slums.

The announcement of the adaptation was met with an illustration drawn by Kei Urana, the original manga series’ author. The image features the author indulging in the anime on a television, in celebration of the adaptation.

Interestingly, the website for the anime has posted a comment from Urana-san, in which they disclosed that during their childhood, they would sit in front of the TV and eagerly anticipate the airing of their beloved anime.

The author excitedly shared that their manga is being adapted into an anime by Studio BONES, stating that it is a dream come true. Ando Hideyoshi, responsible for the graffiti design, expressed their anticipation to see the anime come to life.

During the upcoming Anime EXPO 2024 in Los Angeles, USA, a panel will be held for the popular Gachiakuta anime. Attendees can expect to hear from the production staff at BONES, Avex producers, and the editor as they discuss the behind-the-scenes aspects of creating the anime.

At Studio BONES, Fumihiko Suganuma, the unit director of The First Slam Dunk movie, is leading the production of this dark fantasy anime, while Hiroshi Seko is responsible for writing the series scripts. The highly acclaimed Satoshi Ishino, known for his work on Date A Live, has been chosen as the chief animation director and character designer.

Gachiakuta anime is inspired by Kei Urana’s dark fantasy manga series and centers around Rudo, a young boy residing in the impoverished slums of a floating town inhabited by the descendants of criminals.

Despite being falsely accused of a crime he did not commit, the boy is thrown into the “Abyss,”a place where filth flows. Nonetheless, he perseveres and rises from the depths of the abyss to bring about change in a cursed world.
