Pokemon Go continues its celebration of the Galar region with a new event named Galarian Expedition, which will introduce players to Shiny Zamazenta alongside the shiny variants of the Galar Legendary Birds: Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres.
This month has been exciting for Pokemon Go enthusiasts, marked by the launch of the Max Out season, featuring Dynamax Pokemon, Max Battles, and the introduction of Shiny Zacian during the Legendary Heroes event.

Dates & Times
The Galarian Expedition event kicks off on Friday, October 4, 2024, at 10:00 AM local time and concludes on Friday, October 11, 2024, at 8:00 PM local time.
Shiny Zamazenta & Galarian Legendary Birds Debut
After considerable anticipation, Shiny Zamazenta is finally making its way into Pokemon Go, along with all three shiny variants of the Galarian Legendary Birds: Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres.
Players can encounter Shiny Zamazenta in a 5-Star Raid battle, while the Galarian Legendary Birds can only be found in the wild by utilizing Daily Adventure Incense.
Importantly, following the event, there will be a permanent update to the Pokemon that can appear when using Daily Adventure Incense.
Masterwork Research: Master Ball
Throughout the Galarian Expedition event, players can opt to purchase the Masterwork Research for $7.99 (or local currency equivalent). Completion of this research grants:
- Master Ball x1
- 18,000 XP
- 10,000 Stardust
- Encounters with event-themed Pokemon like Galarian Farfetch’d and Galarian Mr. Mime.
This Masterwork Research does not have an expiration date, allowing players to tackle it at their convenience.
