Gears of War: E-Day – The Story and Setting
Gears of War: E-Day will explore the origins of Marcus and Dom’s friendship.
Gear of War: E-Day takes place 14 years prior to the events of the first game. The game chronicles the events of Emergence Day, when the formidable Locust first appeared on Sera and launched a series of coordinated attacks on the human population through Emergence holes, causing unprecedented casualties.
On Emergence Day, the protagonist of the series, Marcus Fenix, encounters the Locust horde for the first time. Despite being known as a skilled and experienced fighter, fans will witness a different aspect of Fenix as he grapples with battling a terrifying enemy.
As a prequel, the upcoming title will feature the reappearance of Dominic Santiago, a beloved character from the main trilogy who underwent a tragic journey and developed a strong bond with Fenix. E-Day will delve into the origins of their brotherhood, well before the establishment of Delta Squad.
The prequel will also offer origin stories for various elements of the franchise, such as the Chainsaw Lancer. This iconic weapon is closely associated with the Gears universe, but as shown in the E-Day trailer, it was not yet in existence during the time of the invasion.
