Thankfully, the creator of Jujutsu Kaisen, Gege Akutami, shared a considerable amount of information about the popular Six Eyes user in an official booklet released on August 8th alongside the Jump Giga Summer 2024.
Creator of Jujutsu Kaisen Reveals Information on Gojo’s Parents in Recent Interview
According to Akutami’s booklet, Gojo’s birthplace was Kyoto, where his family’s main house was located. He relocated to Jujutsu Tech in order to distance himself from his “overbearing family.”Akutami also mentioned that Gojo’s parents are still alive and have achieved a higher position within the clan thanks to Gojo Satoru’s success.
Despite being a member of one of the three big clans, Gojo was not a particularly strong sorcerer. As a result, he and his family separated from the rest of the clan in order to focus on his education as a sorcerer. While he was an only child, Gojo had many relatives within the clan. However, due to his unique status as a powerful sorcerer, he likely did not have typical interactions with them.
Akutami disclosed that prior to his enrollment at Jujutsu Tech, Gojo received training from his clan. He underwent rigorous education and intense training, even completing missions. Additionally, the mangaka noted that Gojo’s character was both his greatest asset and greatest downfall. In addition to this, it was revealed that Gojo likely struggled with the aftermath of preventing Suguru Geto’s betrayal, leading him to devote himself to cultivating the next generation.
From Akutami’s perspective, we gain a deeper understanding of Gojo Satoru as an individual rather than just the Strongest Sorcerer. According to Akutami, Gojo’s duties and obligations began from birth due to his rare inheritance of both the Six Eyes and Limitless abilities, making for a challenging upbringing.

From a young age, he was expected to live up to this title and as the “special one,”he was constantly put under pressure. The weight of this responsibility may have led him to distance himself from his clan. Even in death, he is unable to find peace due to his unmatched abilities.
In addition, Akutami highlights Gojo’s character as both his greatest asset and liability. He has the ability to be carefree and playful with his students, friends, and close colleagues, yet he can also be detached and harsh towards sorcerer executives and enemies. Despite being known as “the strongest,”Gojo possesses a kind heart that has gotten him into and out of trouble. He deeply values those he holds dear, but his emotions can be easily influenced.
