Gege foreshadowed how Kenjaku got Sukuna’s twin brother’s soul long before Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 257

The recently released chapter 257 of Jujutsu Kaisen provided surprising insight into the connection between Yuji Itadori and Ryomen Sukuna. There were previous rumors and theories surrounding this topic, suggesting that Yuji may be Sukuna’s brother, an alternate version of him, or even his twin. However, the latest chapter revealed the truth about their relationship.

Nevertheless, following the major revelation in the most recent chapter, the situation appears to have shifted. It is not Yuji, but rather his father Jin, who has been exposed as Sukuna’s twin sibling. To be precise, Jin is the embodiment of the twin brother that Sukuna devoured while still in their mother’s womb.

As stated in the chapter, it was Kenjaku who appeared to initiate this series of events. However, this has left fans with one lingering question – How did Kenjaku manage to obtain Sukuna’s twin’s soul?

Gege Akutami seemingly foreshadowed the revelation of how Sukuna’s twin brother’s soul ended up in Kenjaku’s possession much earlier in Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 257. This hint was initially subtle and seemingly insignificant, but ultimately had a significant impact on the story.

In chapter 242, Kenjaku faced off against Fumihiko Takaba in a battle. Takaba was considered to be the wildcard of Jujutsu High Force, thanks to his incredibly powerful Innate Technique. Once activated, it caused the two to experience unpredictable and chaotic situations where Kenjaku’s attacks had no effect on Takaba.

Fans would recall that for a brief moment, the setting changed to a hospital. Kenjaku and Takaba were dressed as doctors, working to resuscitate a large fish. In the end, Kenjaku surprises Takaba by using a defibrillator on him. However, in the following two panels, Kenjaku is shown as a nurse.

At the time, it may have appeared to be just part of the skit, but in Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 257, it becomes clear that it held a hidden significance. According to the information presented, Kenjaku was the midwife who assisted Sukuna’s mother during her labor. This could potentially explain how he obtained the soul of the twins.

It can be inferred that Kenjaku managed to reincarnate Sukuna’s twin as Jin Itadori by utilizing the union of Wasuke Itadori and his wife. He then took over Kaori Itadori’s body and conceived Yuji with Jin, which serves as the most logical explanation for how Kenjaku obtained Sukuna’s twin’s soul.

Despite the unknown means by which Kenjaku discovered the twin’s soul, it is not unexpected considering the twisted nature of his mind.

Prior to Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 257, Mangaka Gege had subtly foreshadowed Kenjaku’s possession of Sukuna’s twin brother’s soul. Despite this detail being mentioned, it went largely unnoticed by readers as it appeared to be just one of the many possibilities within Takaba’s technique.

Through this reveal, the mangaka has showcased their talent for surprising fans with unforeseen plot twists. The small details hold much more significance than initially perceived.

Despite this, it is now confirmed that Kenjaku is Yuji’s parent and Sukuna is his uncle. Additionally, the Demon King has revealed that Yuji possesses a piece of his soul and has a hidden potential comparable to his own.
