Gege not bringing back Nobara: Criminal at this point, and Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 260 just proved it

Jujutsu Kaisen’s 260th chapter is scheduled for release on May 20, 2024. However, the spoilers may have shattered the possibility of Nobara’s comeback, as the chapter showcases the revival of a deceased sorcerer.

In the chapter, Aoi effectively used Boogie Woogie against the King of Curses (Sukuna), causing confusion and frustration for the villain. The highlight of the chapter was the reappearance of a sorcerer who had previously been shown only as a mysterious silhouette. Many fans speculated that this sorcerer was Gojo Satoru.

Despite being fatally injured, Nobara has not reappeared in the final fight, and Gojo Satoru was confirmed dead after being sliced into two pieces by Sukuna. This suggests that her return may not be imminent.

Please be advised that this article may contain spoilers from chapter 260 of Jujutsu Kaisen and represents the personal views of the author.

The latest installment of Jujutsu Kaisen, chapter 260, began with Aoi showcasing the device that enabled him to utilize his cursed technique, Boogie Woogie, known as the Vibroslap. This apparatus placed a limit on the number of times he could use his technique, but it proved effective in transporting everyone beyond the reach of Sukuna’s domain.

Following this, Aoi and Yuji, working together as a tag team, launched an attack on the King of Curses. With Boogie Woogie’s assistance, Yuji successfully landed blows on the enemy. Interestingly, Sukuna struggled to understand how Aoi’s cursed technique functioned and continued to attempt to strike the main character.

Yuji managed to sneak up on him and pierce his chest, but the King of Curses retaliated by attempting to activate his domain. Just as Sukuna was about to do so, a mysterious figure suddenly appeared and prevented him from proceeding. The narrator’s portrayal of this silhouette strongly suggested that it was none other than Gojo Satoru, raising the hopes of fans for his eventual return.

With the reappearance of Gojo Satoru, it was revealed that Kugisaki Nobara had also made a comeback. Nobara had sustained fatal injuries from Mahito in the Shibuya arc and had not been seen since. Meanwhile, Gojo Satoru had met his demise at the hands of Sukuna in the ongoing Shibuya Showdown arc, but his return was hinted at in chapter 260.

Similarly to Nobara, there are also other characters who have returned to the series despite being injured. One example is Aoi Todou, who was gravely injured in the final battle against Mahito in the Shibuya arc, but ultimately made a reappearance in chapter 259.

Despite being fatally stabbed by Haruta Shigemo, Ichiji, the assistant director of Jujutsu High, was able to reappear during the Culling Game arc. Additionally, characters who had previously been forgotten, such as Miguel and the other members of Geto’s group, also made an appearance in the battle against Sukuna.

Despite current developments, there is a possibility that Gege Akutami, the artist, may bring back deceased characters such as Geto, similarly to his previous revival of Gojo, before Nobara’s reemergence in the manga series. This could potentially disadvantage Nobara’s character, considering her powerful cursed technique, the Straw Doll Technique, could be a crucial tool against Sukuna.

What Happens if Nobara Has Already Returned?

Apart from the ultimate showdown between Sukuna, the ongoing conflict between Uraume and Hakari is also underway. However, there may be another ongoing battle between Nobara and Mahito that has yet to be depicted in the manga. In chapter 243, following Kenjaku’s demise at the hands of Okkotsu Yuta, all of the cursed spirits he had absorbed were freed.

Despite being an unregistered special-grade spirit, Mahito is still at large and has not yet intervened in the fight against Sukuna. Fans may recall that he was one of the spirits mentioned previously.

It is possible that Nobara has joined the battle and is currently fighting the special-grade cursed spirit in order to seek revenge on Mahito for his actions during the Shibuya arc. The manga has not yet shown her involvement, making this speculation plausible, but it is best to wait for official confirmation.
