The introduction of the Genshin Impact 5.0 graphics update will enhance the game’s visual appearance and significantly improve the performance of older devices.
HoYoverse announced through a post on the official Genshin Impact Twitter account that they are currently improving the game’s overall visuals and features. This follows the recent updates of 4.0 Global Illumination, as well as 4.4 Global Far Fog and Gradient Tint Rock, which greatly enhanced the lighting and shadows in the game, resulting in more visually stunning environments.
In its pursuit of constantly improving Genshin Impact, HoYoverse has set its sights on enhancing the game’s graphics even further in the upcoming 5.0 update. This means that players can expect Natlan and future updates to have an even more visually stunning appearance. The developers have also shared their plans to implement stricter performance optimization in order to ensure that the game runs smoothly on minimum spec devices.
“The upgrade will result in increased performance demands. Despite our efforts to maintain the minimum device requirements for Version 5.0, we will implement more rigorous performance optimization strategies to guarantee the game runs smoothly after the update.”

This news is extremely thrilling for Genshin Impact players, especially for those using high-end PCs. The Genshin Impact community is also eagerly anticipating the new graphics upgrade, with some even teasing about its potential to have real-life impact.
One player joked that the upcoming update will not only showcase the grandeur of Natlan, but also allow players to experience the power of the Pyro Archon while playing the game. On the other hand, some mobile players made amusing comments about their devices overheating due to the intense heat mechanic in Natlan, comparing it to the already existing sheer cold mechanic. They playfully remarked that the game will be so immersive that they will feel the extreme heat on their hands.
It should be noted that the Version 5.0 update will result in decreased visual performance on iOS devices with an A12 processor (or lower), Android devices with a Snapdragon 865 (or lower), and PS4. Despite this, the game’s overall performance will improve significantly, albeit with fewer visual details. Ultimately, this is a positive outcome for all Genshin Impact players, regardless of platform.
