On August 2, 2024, HoYoverse released a new teaser trailer for Genshin Impact Natlan, featuring an “adorable”creature that has captured the interest of the game’s fanbase.
Genshin Impact players have rapidly developed a strong affection for the “Lil’ Buddy” teaser trailer, which centers on a charming little creature as it explores Natlan alongside the Traveler and Paimon. The small bipedal being becomes enamored with a bird and trails after it through the various environments of the new region.
Despite the trailer providing Genshin fans with a sneak peek at new POIs and a formidable enemy, it is the adorable creature in the game that has caused a collective frenzy among players.
The Genshin Impact community took to the official Genshin Impact Reddit page to discuss their opinions on this adorable creature. One player humorously joked, “I’m ready to be the Dendro Archon Nahida and adopt this little buddy. Where can I find them?”
“Another Traveler expressed their willingness to sacrifice themselves for the adorable burrowing dragon creature. Other players also commented on its “chonky”size, which only adds to its irresistible cuteness. Some even joked, “Oh no, here it comes! So chonky and cute!”
It is fortunate that the “Lil’ Buddy”will have a role in the Natlan update and is not just a cute creature. According to HoYoVerse, they stated the following in the preview trailer: “A new adventure means new companions. Despite being a youngling, this little buddy will do everything possible to join you on your journey.”
It is noteworthy that the citizens of Natlan have a custom of having Saurian (dragon) companions. In the initial Natlan teaser, we were also able to witness some Saurian gameplay, with the “Lil’ Buddy”effortlessly scaling walls and burrowing underground.
Thus, it is highly likely that we will witness a greater presence of this miniature dragon upon the launch of Natlan in the Version 5.0 update, slated for release on August 28, 2024.
