Team planning in Genshin Impact is a very important element of the game. From choosing elements to evoke elemental reactions, to researching characters’ unique passive abilities, and of course, choosing favorite characters, choosing each character carefully can give the player a significant advantage.
However, Genshin Impact players often fail to consider the importance of a special element of the team – elemental resonances. They need to understand that each character on the team has their own unique buffs and elemental resistances, and combining characters of the same element provides additional bonuses. But often players are not aware of the specific benefits of each elemental resonance.
On March 8, 2023, the character Dendro was released in the game Genshin Impact, which increases the number of available resonances. To get the effect, it is necessary that the team has at least two characters with this element. In addition, the Hydro Resonance effect has been redesigned to be one of the best in the game. For example, having two characters with the Hydro element in Hu Tao’s team increases her health by 25%, which is very useful. The same happens if the team has two high damage Pyro characters such as Xiao or Diluk – their attack is increased by 25%, which greatly increases their effectiveness in battle.
Overview of “Elemental Resonances” in the game Genshin Impact.
Typically, Genshin Impact players benefit from Elemental Resonance when using multiple characters with the same element in a team. Although there are exceptions (described in the article), this is a general mechanic: every character on the team benefits from the use of resonances, regardless of who uses them.
Naturally, fans of Genshin Impact should carefully consider the use of resonances. For example, players can take advantage of Resonance to boost aspects they lack, such as Pyro Resonance to increase Attack and Hydro Resonance to add HP.
protective dome
- Effect: all elemental RES +15%, physical RES +15%.
In Genshin Impact, the simplest basic resonance is the protective dome. It can be activated if the player in the team has one representative of the four elements. This is a good initial resonance for beginners who are not familiar with the game.
Swift Winds
- Effect: Reduces stamina consumption by 15% and cooldown of skills by 5%. Movement Speed +10%.
The first element that every traveler needs in the game is the Anemo Resonance. Perhaps the second most popular among newcomers is the Pyro or Cryo resonance. Swift Winds is the best choice for exploring the world, especially when paired with characters that have additional abilities. For example, the traveler in Genshin Impact can move around the map even faster with this resonance. If players add Dehya and Rosaria to their team, the research speed will increase even more.
crushing ice
- Effect: 40% less time while affected by Electro. +15% Critical Chance against Enemies that are Frozen or Cryo-affected.
Cryo Resonance is one of the most popular elements in the game and is very popular among players. The main reason for this is that the team using this element has very strong freeze capabilities, which is especially important in Genshin Impact Morgana’s team play.
High voltage
- Effect: Impact of Hydro 40% less time. Superconductivity, Overload, Electric Charge, Haste, Aggravation, or Hyperbloom have a 100% chance to generate an Electrocell Particle (Cooldown: 5s).
Electro Resonance is probably one of the worst elemental resonances in Genshin Impact considering that Electro characters can always generate energy. Some characters, such as Raiden Shogun, can play just fine without this resonance, as they can recharge their energy on their own. Other characters, such as Lisa, cannot fully rely on Resonance to solve the energy problem, as one Electro Particle with a 5 Second CD is not useful enough.
However, Resonance helps reduce the amount of time players are exposed to Hydro, making freezing and electrocutting issues less common. This is one of the positive aspects of using Electro Resonance.
solid rock
- Effect: Shield durability +15%. In addition, characters protected by the shield will have the following special stats: +15% damage dealt, damaging enemies will lower their Geo RES by 20% for 15 seconds.
The Geo Element Resonance effect in Genshin Impact is perhaps stronger than Pyro Resonance, but in practical terms, it’s not as convenient. If players use two characters with the Geo element and one special shield, they will receive a bonus to both attack and defense. The 15% damage bonus will prove to be key.
soothing water
- Effect: Pyro lasts 40% less time. Max. HP +25%.
In Genshin Impact, the old Hydro Resonance increased healing, but was later changed to increase HP. The new effect is much more useful than the old one, especially considering that many characters can use the HP increase. For example, players can now put together a team of Hu Tao, Xingqiu, Yelan, and Zhongli, and all characters in that team can effectively use the HP increase.
blazing flame
- Effect: 40% less time while under the effect of cryo. Attack +25%.
Even though healing and defense are extremely important in Genshin Impact, DPS (Damage Per Second) is still a key concept in this game. Players who want to maximize their offensive skills are advised to use Pyro Resonance as one of the best ways to achieve this goal. This kind of resonance is perfect for players who want to increase the damage of their existing attacker character or for teams lacking high damage characters.
spreading greenery
- Effect: Elemental Mastery +50. When the Burn, Haste, or Bloom reactions are triggered, all nearby party members gain 30 damage. Elemental Mastery for 6 seconds. After triggering the Aggravate, Proliferate, Hyperbloom, or Bloom reactions, all nearby party members receive 20 damage. Elemental Mastery for 6 seconds. The duration of the above effects will be considered independently.
Dendro Resonance greatly increases Elemental Mastery (EM) in Genshin Impact, as the element revolves around the elemental Dendro’s reaction. When a certain requirement is met, players will automatically receive 50 EM units, and then they can get up to 50 more by triggering the necessary reactions.
Genshin Impact is now available on Mobile, PC, PS4 and PS5. Switch version is under development.
