According to various reports, the French esports organization Gentlemates is strategizing to acquire the Call of Duty League position currently held by the LA Guerrillas. Their plan includes undermining the LA Thieves and their so-called “god squad”deal.
This move could position Gentlemates as one of the strongest teams in the league, making them immediate championship contenders, particularly alongside current Thieves star Daniel ‘Ghosty’ Rothe.
However, their ambitious takeover could disrupt existing arrangements, as Gentlemates seek to establish themselves in the league by claiming the LA Guerrillas’ spot. They aim to create an immediate impact by hindering the Thieves’ chances with their elite roster.
Reports suggest that Gentlemates have already initiated discussions about bringing Scrap and HyDra on board, leading to delays in negotiations as all involved parties strive for the best possible outcome.
Securing a signing from HyDra would be a significant achievement for the French organization.
Reports indicate that Scrap also wishes to retain Envoy as part of his next move, although the SMG player may decide to continue his tenure in Toronto instead.
Negotiations are expected to conclude within the next week, with several teams beginning to finalize their rosters for the upcoming season.
As of now, it remains unclear who will complete any potential Gentlemates roster. Even with just Scrap and HyDra signed, they would have substantial drawing power, allowing them to attract almost any player globally, making them a formidable force.
