George Clooney and Quentin Tarantino

It appears that there is a longstanding feud between George Clooney and Quentin Tarantino following some disrespectful remarks made by the director.

Clooney’s transition from television to film was marked by one of his earliest major roles in From Dusk Till Dawn. Alongside Quentin Tarantino, the film’s writer, he portrayed one of the main characters, one of the Gecko Brothers, who were bank robbers that stumbled upon a bar filled with vampires.

From Dusk Till Dawn, a cult hit from the ’90s, features top talent such as director Robert Rodriguez. However, for the former Batman actor, the film has resurfaced painful memories.

Pitt and Clooney, who have both collaborated with Tarantino before, were interviewed by GQ to discuss their latest project, Wolfs. While Pitt tried to praise the Pulp Fiction filmmaker, Clooney made it clear that he was “slightly annoyed with him.”

Clooney recalled a past interview where the interviewer mentioned various movie stars, including myself and another person. However, when asked about fellow actor George, the interviewer stated he was not a movie star.

“He then proceeded to ask, ‘Can you name a movie that has been released since the millennium?’ To which I replied, ‘Since the millennium? That encompasses my entire career.’”

“At that point, my response was along the lines of, ‘Okay, buddy, go away.’”

Despite being one of Clooney’s first major film roles after years of appearing on television, From Dusk Til Dawn has often been seen as a comedic addition to his career. In the past, Clooney has playfully poked fun at Tarantino for suggesting that they could pass as brothers due to their resemblance.

He is correct in saying that his most successful and renowned films did not come until the turn of the century, when he starred in movies such as O Brother, Where Art Thou, Ocean’s Eleven, and The Perfect Storm.

Although there has been talk of tension between them, Clooney still expresses his admiration for him in the interview, stating, “I have no problem teasing him. He teases me too. But we are fortunate to have had the opportunity to collaborate with such talented directors.”

“The key to a successful film lies in the director and screenplay. This lesson was learned after working on several unsuccessful projects. It is impossible to create a good film from a poor script, but it is possible to ruin a good script and create a bad film.
