George Miller’s Ideal Superhero Movie Would Have This Perfect Director

George Miller has recently announced that he would be delighted to collaborate with Chris Hemsworth once more, possibly even on a future installment of Thor. Having seen Hemsworth face off against Anya Taylor-Joy in the upcoming Mad Max prequel, Furiosa, Miller has had ample opportunity to contemplate a potential reunion with the actor in the future.

During an interview with ComicBook.com, Miller expressed his willingness to collaborate with Hemsworth on any project, including Thor 5. He praised Hemsworth’s acting abilities, stating that he has a full range of skills.

“In order to take on these roles, it’s important to have physical athleticism, but emotional and intellectual athleticism are also crucial. I was fortunate to have a talented cast, and the chemistry between Anya and Chris was especially notable. This was particularly evident towards the end of filming.”

Despite not being officially announced by Marvel, Chris Hemsworth has been actively pushing for the development of Thor 5. This effort follows the release of Thor: Love and Thunder, which, although it became the second highest-grossing Thor film, received mixed reviews from critics.

In April 2024, Hemsworth’s comments about his past experience with the Marvel franchise have once again brought Thor into the spotlight. During an interview with Vanity Fair, the actor acknowledged that the fourth Thor movie had been criticized for being “too silly.”

He admitted, “I was so caught up in the improv and the craziness that I ended up becoming a caricature of myself. I failed to deliver in the end.”

It is evident that Hemsworth desires the opportunity to redo his role as a Marvel superhero. In 2007, Miller was on the brink of directing his own superhero film, Justice League: Mortal. However, this plan ultimately fell through, leaving both Hemsworth and Miller with missed chances. A collaboration between them on Thor could potentially rectify these missed opportunities.
