Blink and you may have missed it – the Young Sheldon sequel, Georgie and Mandy’s First Marriage, introduced two new characters in a viral TikTok video.
The cast of Georgie and Mandy’s First Marriage jumped on a viral TikTok trend to reveal that only two of them were new to the show, in their first script.
Connor, played by Dougie Baldwin, is joining the TV show alongside the newlyweds and Mandy’s parents Audrey and Jim. Rueben, portrayed by Jessie Prez, also stars in the show.
If you feel like you have already encountered Connor, it is because you have. The younger brother of Mandy was briefly introduced on Young Sheldon, and has now been replaced in preparation for the sequel.

In the Season 6 episode ‘A Baby Shower and a Testoterone-Rich Banter,’ we are introduced to Connor, a mysterious character whom fans have yet to learn much about. According to Young Sheldon, Connor is a painter and shares a similar dynamic with Mandy as Sheldon does with Georgie, as he also dislikes football and rock bands.
This time, there have been some changes. According to the official character description for Georgie and Mandy’s first marriage, Connor is portrayed as a gifted eccentric with a knack for music who still resides with his parents. While his mother, Audrey, dotes on him, his father, Jim, constantly pressures him, causing Connor to feel like an outsider even among his own family.
Rueben, who is a newcomer to the series, will not be connected to either Georgie or Mandy. Instead, he will form a bond with Jim and will work at the tire shop alongside him.
According to his synopsis, he is not particularly pleased with the shop’s latest addition: Georgie, who happens to be Jim’s son-in-law.
After the conclusion of Season 7 of Young Sheldon, Georgie finds himself in dire need of employment. As a result of Meemaw’s arrest, caused by the shutdown of their illegal gambling operation, Georgie returns from his honeymoon with no source of income.
This leads the couple to accept Audrey and Jim’s offer to live with them, foreshadowing their future dynamic in the sequel. In the Season 7 finale, viewers witness Jim’s offer for Georgie to work at the tire shop, despite Audrey’s initial hesitation, marking the beginning of his transformation into the beloved ‘Dr. Tire’ character seen in The Big Bang Theory.
