On August 19, 2024, Kayleigh Leon, a well-known food blogger on TikTok with a following of over 27 million likes, shared a video showcasing the difference between the kids’ and adults’ meals at Applebee’s.
The video received 186,000 views in less than 12 hours and also shared tips on how customers can save money on their meal.
Kayleigh presents a side-by-side comparison of an Applebee’s standard cheeseburger and fries meal alongside a kids’ version of the same meal. Surprisingly, there is no noticeable difference between the two.

The two burgers are both served in a shiny and appetizing brioche bun and are equal in size. Additionally, they both come with the same serving of fries.
However, here’s the thing: the adult meal is priced at $12.99, while the kids’ meal is only $6.99 and includes a drink. Essentially, you’re getting a full meal for half the cost.
Despite the fact that the kids’ meal is typically much smaller at most restaurants, Applebee’s stands out by not skimping on their burger portions.
The comments were filled with people who were extremely surprised, including one person who remarked, “The sizes of the portions seem exactly the same to me at the moment lol.”
Some were also confirming that this hack is a widely effective trick at the well-known chain restaurant. One person shared, “We typically order for pickup and three-fourths of us choose from the kids menu, which has saved us a significant amount of money.”
