Collecting Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG) Pocket cards in various languages can be an exciting endeavor. Below, we discuss the methods to accomplish this successfully.
The appeal of Pokémon TCG lies not only in its gameplay but also in the sheer beauty and illustration of the cards. While the Pokémon TCG Pocket app caters to a more casual player base, it similarly offers opportunities to collect and customize cards.
In the Pocket game, players can enhance their card collections with Flairs. To truly stand out, you can incorporate cards from other languages, whether you’re displaying your rare Mew card or unique meta decks. Below, we’ll guide you through the process of acquiring these foreign language cards.
Methods to Acquire Pokémon TCG Pocket Cards in Different Languages
To collect Pokémon TCG Pocket cards in various languages, players can adjust their in-game settings and utilize Wonder Picks. Although a third method involving trading is in development, we will focus on these two options for now.
Adjust Your Language Settings
To change your language settings, navigate to the Language Selection feature within the app. Here’s how you do it:
- Tap on the three-line icon at the bottom left of the screen.
- Select Other followed by Settings.
- Scroll down and locate Language Selection.
Once you’ve selected your desired language, confirm the change by clicking OK. You will return to the home screen, now displayed in your preferred language. The next time you open a booster pack or unlock cards, those will appear in the new language setting; however, previously acquired cards will remain in their original language.
During battles, the display of cards will reflect the language settings you’ve configured in the system. Outside of battles, however, cards will revert to their original language, which applies to those obtained via Wonder Picks as well.
Selecting Cards from Wonder Picks
Wonder Picks allow players to select hidden cards from other players. Occasionally, these hidden cards may be in foreign languages. If you’re fortunate enough to acquire a card in another language, it will appear as such in your collection, much like cards obtained after altering your language settings.
It’s important to note that gameplay mechanics between standard cards and those in different languages remain unchanged. The visual appearance varies, but all card abilities and statistics function the same regardless of language.
Supported Languages
Currently, the game supports nine different languages. While it is possible that additional languages will be introduced in the future, here’s the current list:
- English
- Japanese
- Korean
- Traditional Chinese
- Spanish
- French
- German
- Italian
- Portuguese
Feel free to change your preferred language at any time, especially when you are ready to open new packs!
