Aurelionite, one of the most challenging bosses in Risk of Rain 2, resides in the Gilded Coast. Though the location has always offered benefits in the base game, the Seekers of the Storm expansion has added even more reasons to make a detour there. Here are the methods for reaching the Gilded Coast in Risk of Rain 2.
Reaching the Gilded Coast in Risk of Rain 2
The Gilded Coast in Risk of Rain 2 can be accessed using any of the following methods:
- Interact with the Altar of Gold at any stage to summon a Gold Portal. This is a very rare altar that randomly shows up in different stages, and has a distinct look compared to regular altars.
- The Seekers of the Storm update introduces the ability to activate Halcyon Shrines which will summon Green Portals. Upon discovering another Halcyon shrine while within the Green Portal, activating it will also summon a Gold Portal that will transport you to the Gilded Coast.
- Additionally, the third method of reaching the Gilded Coast involves accessing the Bazaar Between Time through a Blue Portal, which can be summoned by activating Newt Altars scattered throughout various stages. In this area, there is a possibility for the appearance of the Golden Portal on the Lunar Seer, which requires the expenditure of 3 lunar coins.
Currently, the only available methods for players to access the Gilded Coast, confront Aurelionite, and obtain plentiful loot are the ones mentioned above. It is highly beneficial to visit the Gilded Coast during a standard run, but it is crucial to defeat Aurelionite in order to unlock the False Son survivor.
Despite the somewhat rocky release of the expansion, the addition of new characters such as Seeker and Chef is a welcome one. The inclusion of new mastery skins is also noteworthy.
