On the 13th, a video titled “Let’s Eat with Kkondae – (Kkondae and) (G)I-DLE (feat. Miyeon, Minnie)” was released on the YouTube channel ‘Kkondaehee.’ In the video, comedians Kim Dae-hee, Miyeon, and Minnie entertained viewers with their delightful conversation and comedy, resulting in plenty of laughter for the audience.
During the video, Kim Dae-hee inquired, “There are five members, correct? Are Soyeon, Yuqi, Soojin, and Shuhua their actual names?”They responded, “Indeed, all of us go by our real names.”
Miyeon and Minnie went on to recount the process of choosing their team name, recalling that ‘Anycolor’ was one of the top contenders. They had considered various options but ultimately decided on incorporating their favorite colors and animals into their name, inspired by their seniors TVXQ. Minnie shared, “I wanted to go with something like TVXQ sunbaenims, using colors and animals we love. So I was going to be ‘Pink Mouse’ since I love pink, just like Minnie Mouse.”Miyeon chimed in, saying she had planned to be called ‘Green Crocodile’ as green was her favorite color.

During another part of their conversation, Kim Dae-hee became intrigued by Minnie’s name while she was quietly eating. Kim Dae-hee asked for Minnie’s real name, to which she responded with a question, “My real name?”Kim Dae-hee then explained that it is customary to use one’s real name when speaking to an elder. After a moment of hesitation, Minnie finally replied with, “Nicha Yontararak.”This caused Kim Dae-hee to playfully exclaim, “Are you teasing me?”Miyeon confirmed, “That is indeed her real name.”
Kim Dae-hee playfully attempted to pronounce Minnie’s name in a humorous manner, asking, “Is it ‘Nicha Your Car’ and ‘Nicha Your Sound is Yontararak’?” Minnie confirmed, causing everyone to burst into laughter. Kim Dae-hee then acknowledged, “I’ve come across various surnames, but ‘Ni’ is a first,”to which Minnie corrected, “It’s not ‘Ni,’ it’s ‘Yontararak.’”
During the video, Kim Dae-hee inquired about Minnie’s father, asking, “What is his name?”Minnie’s initial response was, “His phone number?”causing a temporary confusion. However, she quickly clarified that her father’s name is “Danud Yontararak”and she was certain that it could be found on Namuwiki.
After realizing his mistake, Kim Dae-hee apologized to Minnie for assuming she was Korean, stating, “I’m sorry, I mistook you for being Korean.”This brought a heartwarming resolution to their cultural misunderstanding and communication obstacles.
