Despite being a fan of the female idol, many were disappointed to see Shuhua’s friendship with Kai Ko, given his scandalous career.

In 2014, Kai Ko was taken into custody for drug possession along with Jaycee Chan, the son of renowned Hong Kong actor Jackie Chan. He was apprehended by Beijing Police during a widespread crackdown on drug use among Chinese celebrities.

During that time, Kai Ko and Jaycee Chan were both found to have tested positive for marijuana. Following his confession of drug use, Kai Ko received a 14-day administrative detention sentence. He was released on August 28 and subsequently underwent further interrogations by the Taipei District Prosecutors Office in Taiwan.

It is ironic that in 2012, he had featured in an anti-drug advertisement.

Despite her popularity, Shuhua has faced criticism from fans due to her association with Kai Ko, with many pointing out their close relationship in numerous photos. This has resulted in a backlash from both Chinese and Taiwanese fans, who are expressing their disappointment with her choice of friends.
