The release of “Super Lady”by (G)I-DLE has caused a stir with mixed reactions and allegations of plagiarism. On January 29, the song and its music video were released and were soon compared to popular artists such as T-ARA, 2NE1, BLACKPINK, Taylor Swift, and Red Velvet.

Despite investing a record 1.1 billion won into their comeback, which focused on themes of pride and women’s rights, the group has faced criticism for the song’s strong and vibrant arrangement, with some claiming it resembles other artists’ works in both music and visual elements.

Despite the final verse bearing resemblance to T-ARA’s “Sugar Free”and the music video’s sets and scenes evoking memories of BLACKPINK and Taylor Swift, there are notable similarities. These similarities have sparked concerns about the originality and potential impact on (G)I-DLE’s image.
